Pilot Training Programmes

Location

Date

Duration

Dyslexia and Dyspraxia Support (DADS), Maghera

January – March 2004

35 hours (11 sessions)

The programme was delivered to a mixed abilities group, which included participants affected by dyslexia. It covered a variety of aspects involved in creating an animation, from brainstorming and storyboarding to using digital tools to produce and animate images and add a soundtrack.

The trainees greatly enjoyed the programme and worked very well together to produce very imaginative animations. Two young men affected by dyslexia created an original animation about how it feels being dyslexic, and found audiovisuals an alternative and more suitable means of expressing their ideas.
