Digital Music & Digital Imaging @ The Junction
Action Mental Health at the Junction is a centre which caters
for young people affected by mental health problems. The centre
offers its users a variety of support measures to help them
cope with their mental health problems, acquire new skills,
and make and carry out plans for the future.
The project was developed by Dream Ireland in collaboration
with WheelWorks in order to provide young people at the Junction
with a creative programme in digital media that would contribute
to their personal development, and encourage them to progress
into further education or employment.
The training included a module on digital music and another
on digital imaging. The training was project-based and participants
produced a music track and a CD cover.
Dream Ireland used the new CEA Occupational Studies in Digital
Technology award to accredit the programme – the first
time the qualification has been delivered outside of the formal
education system in Northern Ireland.
